Holy
Is there anything in this world that is holy? I cannot make anything holy and neither can any man. Only God can make something holy. So let’s take a look at some of the things God says are holy.
Ezekiel 39:7
So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Revelation 4:8
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
which was, and is, and is to come.
The children of Abraham were chosen by God to be the light bearers to the world because Abraham was a faithful and obedient follower of the Lord, God could bless him with this promise to bless his children with the oracles of God’s law.
This was a great responsibility and as long as they were obedient to God they could be called the holy people as representatives of Abraham and his God. God led the prophets and scribes to keep faithful record of the history of Israel. It is clear they have left their holy state as a nation. But the angels keep record of all. There are some who remained true amidst the great apostasy. Our God is ever holy and will never change. He has told us what is holy and we are to reverence what He tells us to and obey so we can be the progenitors of His precepts and be an example to those about us. His law is holy and shows us His character. That is why we are told that sin is the transgression of the law. When we are not obeying we do no represent God’s character to those about us.
Most people are aware of the common laws of the land and no government or country can run their nation without laws of some kind. Yet so many people are saying God’s law was nailed to the cross. God’s law is eternal and stands forever. The things that were nailed to the cross are the sacrifices because Jesus was the final sacrifice. Daniel tells us this so clearly in Daniel 9:27 and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.
This is the prophetic week of Daniels prophecy of when Jesus was crucified.
We have an enemy in this world who wants to do away with the law and Satan has made his own law and thinks he has made a new sabbath day on Sunday when God says it is the seventh day as a memorial of the creation of this world. He worked for six days making planet earth and the seventh day He took a rest and made the day holy and expects us to also rest from our work on His holy day.
Genesis 2:3
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Leviticus 19:2
Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.
1 Peter 1:16
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Leviticus 22:32
Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the LORD which hallow you,
Exodus 19:6
And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Romans 7:12
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Exodus 20:8-11
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD Thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, thesea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 16:23
And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the Holy Sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
Isaiah 58:13
If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, From doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Exodus 31:14,15
Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is Holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Leviticus 23:3
Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
Nehemiah 10:31
And if the people of the land bring ware or Any victuals on the Sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the Sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.
