Do YOU?
Do You Know Who Melchizedek is?
It’s a wonderful name and a harmonious name and even sounds heavenly. It is evident that Abraham knew of Melchizedek’s status and authority, for Abraham paid Him tithes of all.
When the kings of the surrounding cities came to make war with the kings of Sodom and Gomorah and Admah, Zeboiim and Bela Lot, Abraham’s nephew was taken captive and so Abraham armed his own household for war with his 318 trained men.
He divided the men and pursued them by night. He brought back all the goods and all the people.
Melchizedek, the King of Salem, the Priest of the Most High God came from Salem to meet Abraham and brought them food and Abraham gave Him tithes of all.
He was known to be the King of Righteousness, King of Salem which is King of Peace. This sounds like a Holy Divine Person.
He was a person who didn’t have a father or mother or any descendents on earth. He had no beginning to His life and He is still alive and will have no end to His life. He is made like the Son of God. In Hebrews is where you can read about Melchizedek.
He was not born on this earth and did not have a human family. He spent some time on this earth to teach the people the way of salvation. He always was in existence and did not have a beginning to His life.
He is not Jesus but is like Jesus because they are both Divine persons. Melchizedek is the Holy Spirit spending some time on this earth in His special Priesthood. The Holy Spirit is the Representative of the Father, the voice of God on earth.
It is a special privilege to have the Holy Spirit to guide us in the truths of the Bible.
At the time of the creation of the world the Holy Spirit of God participated in the creation of the world and moved upon the face of the waters.
Throughout the history of the world the Holy Spirit has been working on mans hearts to bring them to repentance of their sins.
The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary and she brought forth and gave birth to the begotten Son of God. When Jesus was baptized and came up out of the water the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus showing Himself in the form of a burnished gold dove.
The symbol of the dove shows the gentleness and meekness of our lovely Jesus. The spirit is the fullness of the Godhead. The heavenly trio, three living persons is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. When we are baptized it is in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
So put your life into harmony and obedience to the law of the Lord so that the Holy Spirit can give supplies of grace to be overcoming the snares of this devil in the world. It’s good to ask everyday for the Holy Spirit to take control of your life to help in your work and become victorious in the end.
