50 Delights to Your Bananas

 Introduction

When we look at all the junk food that people are eating.  I want to give a shout.  Don’t you want to put good things in your body-the temple of God.  He says He will destroy those that defile the temple of God.  So one of the reasons to use this book of recipes is to make a start to making your own treats and get rid of the junk foods.  Sugar can knock out the immune system in short order.  Of course the change is not expected to be done all at once.  But train the mind to want the simple unrefined real food flavors instead of artificial chemical filled things that people are trying to call food and it’s not food, but a lot of it is poison.  So, we encourage you to put effort into using the best quality of the freshest grown fruits and vegetables available.  The more that is raw the better and you’ll be the healthier for the effort.  We hope you will enjoy these treats.

It is good to use bananas at the start of the
brown speckled stage of ripeness for the
best results in these recipes.

Most of the recipes in this book are for a family of six, so if your family is smaller it would be
well to divide the amount of ingredients unless
 you want to freeze some.

Food that is prepared with yeast is better used
the next day.  This is to make sure that the yeast is dead.  Also the food tends to be tastier after a day.
Most recipes where raw bananas are used, plan to use the whole  amount right away as bananas darken and change flavor.

Some of the recipes in this book are a meal alone.
The more simple the food is prepared the better.

“Hot biscuit raised with soda or
baking-powder
should never appear
 upon our tables.  Such
compounds are
unfit to enter the stomach.”

come to poverty and drowsiness shall clothe
a man with rags.”  Proverbs 23:21

Banana Lemon Cookies

5 large bananas mashed

2T lemon

2T yeast

1 cup quick oats

2 cups raisins

1/4cup coconut

1/2cup hazel nut or almonds

1/4t salt

1 cup Whole Wheat flour

Combine yeast and bananas and let stand for 10 minutes.  Stir in the rest of the ingredients.  Spoon cookie batter with teaspoon onto the cookie sheet.  For 20-30 minutes let it raise.  Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes use the next day.  These are extra nice after they have been frozen for a while and the flavor has permeated the whole thing.  Be sure the lemons are very fresh.  Since cold food is hard on the stomach and chills the body, let the frozen food warm before eating or eat together with warm food.

“Hot soda biscuits are often spread with butter,
 and
eaten as a choice diet; but the enfeebled
digestive
organs cannot but feel the abuse
 placed upon them.”

Counsels on Diet and Food, P. 319.

          Soda and Baking Powder

The use of soda or baking powder in bread
making
is harmful and unnecessary.  Soda
causes inflammation of
the stomach, and
often poisons the entire system. Many
house-
wives think that they cannot make good
bread without
soda, but this is an error.  If
they would take the trouble
to learn better
methods, their bread would be more whole-
some and, to a natural taste, it would be
more palatable.
